About The Position

The Palm Springs Surf Club is a premier destination for surf experiences, hospitality, and entertainment. As we prepare for our peak season, we’re looking for energetic, reliable, and team-oriented individuals to join our seasonal staff.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all dishes and kitchenware are fully cleaned and sanitized
  • Time-management skills to keep up with a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to follow health and safety guideline, including proper sanitation and chemical handling
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and work in warm, humid dish areas
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, especially during busy meal periods
  • Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and servers
  • Reliability and punctuality, with consistent attendance
  • Basic organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly dish area
  • Adaptability to help with additional kitchen tasks when needed
  • Self-motivation to stay productive without constant supervision
  • Ability to frequently lift, move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to sit, walk, climb up and down stairs repeatedly for extended periods of time.
  • Constant standing and bending.
  • Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and nights.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans according to health and safety standards
  • Operate and maintain dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment
  • Keep dish area clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Empty trash bins and maintain cleanliness of back-of-house areas
  • Assist with basic food prep tasks when needed (e.g., peelings vegetables, stocking stations)
  • Ensure clean dishes and wares are returned to appropriate stations promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, sinks, and work surfaces throughout shift
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures required by the restaurant and health regulations
  • Communicate any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor or manager
