We have 2 outlets Lake Burton Grill featuring classic fine American fare along with an extensive wine list where the Bowline Takeaway and Bar will offer various grab-and-go options, including Shrimp by the half pound, Fish Tacos, Burgers and Signature Cocktails. We will be open 7 days a week during season for both lunch and dinner. Position Summary: The Dishwasher is an entry-level position that provides important support to restaurant staff while offering fundamental training and experience to the employee. The dishwasher maintains high standards for cleanliness by washing tableware, kitchen items and performing other cleaning tasks as assigned. Dishwashers store all dishes properly to maintain a, organized, functional workspace. We pay premiums wages beginning no less than $15.00 and offer Paid time for full time team members AND Health Insurance is offered to all!
Requirements
- Communication: Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. The ability to promote two-way communication by presenting clear ideas using thoughtful and responsive words. Nonverbal cues from a guest or server can alert the bartender to a potential problem. Must also understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment.
- Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.
- Performing General Physical Activities: Must perform physical activities that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials.
- Time Management Skills: Must utilize methods and organization techniques in a fast-paced environment to ensure efficiency and respect the time of others. Bartenders must be able to direct others, such as bar backs and bussers, to maximize efficiency and team work.
- Flexibility: Often work overtime, when needed, and assist the workload of others.
- Initiative: Must take action frequently, collaborate with team members and develop new ideas that focus on results.
Responsibilities
- Clean all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, serving items and equipment as per the approved sanitation and food safe guidelines.
- Operate the dishwasher and check all items for cleanliness.
- Store all clean dishes in the appropriate areas.
- Maintain all dishwashing and other cleaning equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment around the dishwashing area.
- Load or unload food and supplies.
- Clean the garbage area; and sort and remove trash.
- Assist with food preparation when required.
- Prepare trays and banquet accessories.
- Sweep and mop floors
