Job Overview Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment by supporting culinary operations through sanitation, dishwashing, and equipment care. The Steward plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen and service areas operate efficiently and meet all cleanliness and safety standards. They are an ambassador of happiness and hospitality for all guests and associates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous stewarding, kitchen, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hospitality principles and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow instructions and cleaning schedules.
  • Manual coordination to operate dish machines and handle cookware.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and handling during service.
  • Mobility — ability to travel up to 300 feet during a shift.
  • Continuous standing and walking throughout service.
  • Ability to hear and respond to staff and operational needs in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain organization under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Showcase an inherent desire to take care of others.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, including dish rooms, prep spaces, storage areas, and trash rooms.
  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Properly sort, store, and rotate clean items to ensure availability for service.
  • Assist with basic kitchen support tasks such as transporting supplies, breaking down boxes, and organizing storage areas.
  • Support culinary associates by keeping work areas stocked, clean, and ready throughout service.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment following proper procedures.
  • Participate in deep cleaning projects and routine maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Present a clean, professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Exhibits a kind, welcoming, detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of urgency.
  • All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
