About The Position

CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge, located within The Study at University City, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dishwashing areas while supporting the culinary and restaurant teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Restaurant operations run seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night service. Operational needs require flexibility in scheduling, including variations in shift days, start and end times, and total hours worked each week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and assist with various tasks as needed.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and hotel team members.
• Proficiency in English required; a second language is a plus.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in an indoor kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Load, operate, and unload commercial dishwashing machines.
• Monitor dish machine performance, including proper detergent levels and water temperature to maintain sanitary wash cycles.
• Report equipment malfunctions or performance issues promptly.
• Wash specific kitchen items by hand, including large pots, pans, trays, and delicate serving pieces.
• Clean and store tableware, glassware, cookware, and kitchen utensils.
• Handle and store kitchen items carefully to prevent breakage or loss.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe kitchen at all times.
• Keep floors dry and free of debris to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure adequate levels of clean dishwares are available for restaurant and kitchen operations.
• Bag, transport, and dispose of kitchen waste to designated outdoor dumpsters.
• Maintain adequate levels of dishwashing chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Assist with cleaning food preparation and kitchen production areas as needed.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic preparation tasks and organization.
• Assist other restaurant team members as needed to support efficient operations.
