About The Position

The Dishwasher and Prep Cook works in our high-volume, high-quality catering kitchen. They are responsible for cleaning dishes and equipment, cleaning foods, chopping and portioning while keeping a sanitized work area. Following proper food safety guidelines is a priority. This is an excellent position for someone interested in gaining experience with food practices, preparation and cooking techniques.

  • The DECC uses USCIS Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment. On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization. The employee is required to present the DECC with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization at the time of hire. The DECC will examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s).

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Wash all wares including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwasher.
  • Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
  • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
  • Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Assist kitchen staff with cleaning, chopping and portioning food.
  • Assist with plating meals as necessary.
  • Assist Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef with additional production as needed.
  • Report all maintenance problems or other issues to the supervisor as they occur.
  • Follow accurate food handling guidelines, sanitation, health, and safety protocols
