About The Position

Discovery Family Channel is seeking a creative and proactive YouTube Kids Intern to join our network team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience developing content for young audiences and supporting the growth of our YouTube Kids presence. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about media, eager to learn digital content strategy, and comfortable working in a collaborative, on experience developing content for young audiences and supporting the growth of our YouTube Kids presence. As a YouTube Kids Intern, you will assist the team with supporting the development of YouTube Kids content calendars, learning how to plan, organize, and schedule age-appropriate appropriate content. Candidates will help curate, edit, and upload kid-friendly videos, thumbnails, captions, and descriptions that align with Discovery Family Channel’s brand voice.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with YouTube or strong interest in learning how kids’ digital platforms operate.
  • Experience with creative tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects a plus).
  • Interest in kids’ entertainment, family programming, or children’s digital content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with an interest in storytelling for young audiences.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or rising Senior undergrad student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

Responsibilities

  • Researching YouTube Kids trends, platform updates, and kid safe storytelling formats to help inform content strategy.
  • Assisting in brainstorming sessions for new shortform video ideas, series concepts, and interactive content designed for young audiences.
  • Learning how to monitor video performance and interpret basic YouTube analytics to identify what resonates with kids and family audiences.
  • Helping review content for safety and compliance with YouTube Kids and Standard & Practice guidelines.
  • Participating in creative production tasks such as: Video editing Thumbnail creation Graphics work Pulling clips or assets from existing DFC content
