About The Position

You are invited to join the 2026 Cat5 Resources Disaster Response Training Camp, designed for individuals who want to work in real-world disaster response and critical infrastructure support. This training provides a firsthand look at what it takes to operate in the field, focusing on hands-on, real-world scenarios rather than classroom theory. It covers core skills needed to support emergency power operations and is ideal for those looking to work as Disaster Response Technicians or in Command Center support roles. All disaster response roles are seasonal and deployment-based, with team members notified via call, text, or email when deployments occur. Availability for every event is not required and does not affect future opportunities.

Requirements

  • Basic electrical and/or mechanical knowledge (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Smart device (phone, tablet, or laptop) (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Reliable ½-ton (or larger) 4WD diesel truck (required for fueling/deployment roles) (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Flexible availability for storm deployments (as-needed basis) (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current insurance (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Must be 25 or older (insurance requirement – non-negotiable) (Disaster Response Technician)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver fuel to customer sites (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Deploy and set up generators (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Hardwire generators to critical infrastructure (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Start and monitor generators (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical or electrical issues (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Report field data to command center teams (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Assist with special projects as needed (Disaster Response Technician)
  • Serve as the communication hub between field technicians, customers, and internal teams during disaster events (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
  • Provide site access details to field technicians (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
  • Track and update real-time activity: Technician locations and ETAs, Equipment movement, Site power status, Fueling activity (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
  • Input field data into customer systems (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
  • Support technicians with resources to stay operational (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication under pressure (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
  • Escalate issues to management as needed (Command Center Disaster Response Coordinator)
