About The Position

As a Disability Support Specialist, you will facilitate and coordinate reasonable accommodations (RA) and personal assistance services (PAS) for civilian employees and applicants. You will be responsible for the intake and maintenance of RA cases, serving as a key point of initial contact for the workforce, maintaining compliance with all agency and regulatory guidance, and providing office support for employees with targeted disabilities. Process reasonable accommodation (RA) requests, including monitoring RA mailbox, providing RA forms to employees and applicants, responding to RA RFIs, creating case files with the RA databases, reviewing intake documentation for completeness, making initial contact between the requestor and the RA Specialist, coordinating delivery of RA equipment to employees, and closing case files, as needed or directed. Maintain all case files and databases in accordance with agency guidance and standards. Serve as a primary point of initial contact for employees, supervisors, and managers on reasonable accommodation. Provide direct service to employees and applicants with targeted disabilities as needed when an individual’s primary DSW is unavailable, including note taking at meetings, keyboard mouse navigation, keyboard typing, data entry, holding and movement of materials, dialing and answering the telephone, lifting maps and charts, filing, and other general administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience handling sensitive personnel information with discretion
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Disability Studies, Social Work, or Psychology and 1+ years of experience in human resources or reasonable accommodations (RA), or 5+ years of experience in human resources or reasonable accommodations (RA) in lieu of a degree
