About The Position

Serves as a key member of the Technology Leadership team and is accountable for the strategic direction, delivery, and continuous improvement of workforce enablement platforms and services. Oversees teams responsible for digital workforce enablement, process engineering, enterprise analytics platforms, end-user computing, and workforce support services. This role partners closely with business leaders, Human Resources, and other technology leaders to ensure workforce technologies are secure, scalable, and aligned to organizational strategy, enabling productivity, automation, analytics, and high-quality employee experience. We’re looking for a visionary technology leader to join our Technology Leadership team as Director of Workforce Enablement Technology. In this high-impact strategic role, you’ll own the end-to-end direction, delivery, and continuous evolution of the platforms and services that power our people every day — from digital workforce enablement and process excellence to enterprise analytics, and world-class workforce support. You’ll lead and inspire multiple teams while partnering closely with business leaders, HR, and fellow technology executives across the enterprise. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible technology experience, including at least 4 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including building and developing a high performing team consistently delivering value added results to the business.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and executing enterprise technology or enablement strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams and technology domains simultaneously.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Strong communication, decision making, and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic direction with operational execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading digital workplace or end-user computing initiatives.
  • Experience managing IT support operations, platform engineering teams, or end-user computing environments.
  • Expertise with Microsoft ecosystem technologies such as Power Platform, Microsoft 365, or enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITIL or similar).
  • MBA or advanced degree in technology, business, or engineering.
  • Experience leading large-scale technology adoption or transformation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction and leadership for teams that support Wellmark and divisional strategy and goals.
  • Cascades and communicates strategy and initiatives to team members, driving customer and stakeholder service while supporting achievement of overall company results.
  • Provides leadership and day-to-day management of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee and leader coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination, and budgeting for multiple staff and department specific functions and services.
  • Oversees and drives solutions for Wellmark’s workforce enablement platforms and standards, including digital workforce tools, analytics platforms, and process engineering capabilities.
  • Provides transformational and strategic guidance to team leaders, engineers, and platform administrators.
  • Establishes and enforces technology standards through governance controls, reviews, and adherence monitoring.
  • Ensures adherence to Wellmark technology and architecture governance standards.
  • Mentors and develops leaders and team members to ensure solutions meet business requirements while aligning to future state architectures and enterprise guardrails.
  • Leads the Digital Workforce enablement strategy, including low code/no code platforms, workflow automation, AI agents, and reusable automation patterns.
  • Ensures solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise technology and AI strategies.
  • Oversees process engineering and continuous improvement capabilities focused on process optimization, AI-driven process redesign, process automation, and business enablement.
  • Establishes repeatable frameworks to identify, prioritize, and transform complex processes across the enterprise.
  • Oversees enterprise analytics platforms supporting Power BI reporting and citizen analytics.
  • Defines standards and enablement models that balance self-service analytics with data integrity, reliability, and governance.
  • Oversees the execution and management of workforce support services, including end user computing and service operations.
  • Establishes processes, methodologies, and culture to deliver a high-quality employee experience with a focus on reliability, engagement, follow-up, and closure of technology requests.
  • Defines and measures workforce technology performance and user experience through metrics, service health indicators, and adoption analytics.
  • Uses insights to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Prepares and facilitates executive level briefings and proposals on workforce technology strategy, platform investments, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conducts research on emerging technologies related to workforce enablement, automation, analytics, and productivity; recommends technologies that increase cost effectiveness, flexibility, and employee value.
  • Collaborates with other Technology leaders to establish enterprise-wide policies, procedures, standards, tools, methodologies, and process improvements that support current and future workforce needs.
