Responsibilities

  • SDLC Processes and Tools Standardization Assess the current state and relevant industry practices; lead collaborative analysis and decision-making; publish and maintain enterprise SDLC standards spanning intake, requirements, design, development, testing, release, and support. Embed guidance for Agile/DevOps ceremonies, quality gates and controls, technical-debt remediation, and technology lifecycle management. Establish and govern the technology tools inventory life cycle — selection, onboarding, standardization, consolidation, usage patterns, maintenance, and retirement — across source control, CI/CD, automated code quality and security scanning, test automation, and performance testing. Reduce redundancy and technical risk through disciplined governance and lifecycle management. Partner with Architecture, Quality Engineering, Security/Compliance, and Release/Operations to enforce approval gates and operational readiness before production changes. Codify checks in pipelines wherever feasible. Stand up a Center of Excellence (charter, engagement model, standards backlog, adoption KPIs) to drive consistent roll-out, coaching, and measurement across product lines of standardization initiatives.
  • Lead the evolution and management of the efforts to transition technology to the appropriate utilization of Agile and Big Room Planning best practices, ensuring that people resources are effectively aligned to an optimal mix of technical and functional run-the-business tasks, and enterprise value stream prioritized initiatives enabling transparency, metrics and reporting that enables continues improvement. Responsible for establishing a unified function to gather, manage, and report on key software delivery and technology operational metrics. Developing standardized measurement frameworks, maintaining data quality and governance, and producing clear, actionable insights that enable leaders to understand performance trends, evaluate delivery health, and drive continuous improvement. By centralizing metric collection and reporting, the team ensures consistent visibility into velocity, quality, reliability, and operational stability, supporting data‑driven decision‑making at all levels.
  • Documentation Library: Creation, Maintenance, Governance, and Support Build and own the central technology documentation library (for example, SharePoint), including information architecture, templates, taxonomy, versioning, and retention. Ensure artifacts are authoritative, searchable, maintained, value-add, and audit-ready. Define governance for the artifact lifecycle (create -> review -> publish -> maintain -> retire) with SLAs, RACI, and compliance controls for design blueprints, runbooks, CMDB references, architecture decisions, test plans, and release records. Integrate documentation checkpoints within the SDLC (for example, templates and verifications in CI/CD pipelines) so artifact updates are a first-class part of delivery, not an afterthought.
  • Learning and Enablement for the IT Organization Build and maintain a technology learning program (curriculum, pathways, certifications, workshops, and communities of practice) aligned to SDLC standards and mastery of the technology tools guidance. Leverage online platforms and vendor partners. Curate quarterly learning themes (for example, secure coding, test automation, performance and reliability, platform modernization, AI governance) and track participation and skills uplift. Publish reference guides and playbooks that translate standards into practical how-to guidance. Provide office hours and embedded enablement for priority initiatives.
  • Release and Delivery Governance (in partnership) Codify the release planning, facilitation, and execution model and RACI (for example, TDM, QE, Operations, Security, and Business sign-off) to enforce traceability, readiness, and rollback preparedness across complex, cross-team deliveries. Embed manual and automated approval gates for code quality baselines, regression outcomes, UAT sign-off, and operational runbooks before production change windows.
