About The Position

The US Office of the COO (OCOO) has responsibility for the overall administration of TD Securities in the US. The OCOO ensures alignment among first line functions, risk functions and governance and oversight programs, and works closely with TD Securities senior management to drive and deliver regional business initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable internal and external requirements. Reporting to the AVP of the OCOO, this role is responsible for supporting daily administration of TD Securities. This includes managing OCOO-led initiatives, implementing process improvements and building relationships with business partners and functional support and control groups both within TD Securities and across the broader TD organization. The role requires a highly effective communicator with expertise in providing decision support and insight to senior leaders, as well as managing sensitive and highly confidential matters. Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and at least 10 years of experience working in financial services
  • In-depth knowledge of the broker-dealer business as well as related regulatory requirements and risk and control programs
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and recommend and implement process improvements to support operational excellence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners across the three lines of defense
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities, with a willingness to contribute wherever needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an OCOO or similar role
  • Background in second line risk management and/or compliance is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and execute key business and regulatory priorities led by the OCOO
  • Identify and analyze issues and risks, recommending solutions through research and consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate cross-functionally by acting as a liaison between the OCOO and other stakeholder groups to ensure seamless communication and priority alignment, particularly between first line and risk functions
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with a wide variety of day-to-day OCOO responsibilities, including real estate and finance matters
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Build strong relationships with business partners
  • Assess current processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Track and communicate progress on key initiatives
