About The Position

CJ Logistics America is seeking a Director, Transportation Operations to lead and engage our Transportation Management Center (TMC) team. You will be accountable for achieving operational goals, driving a culture of accountability, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers. As a strategic leader, you will optimize our transportation network while fostering talent and managing high-level customer relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in the Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead teams, including managing other managers (Direct reports: Manager, Transportation Operations; Sr. Manager, Transportation Operations).
  • Advanced-level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop long-term plans, and form collaborative partnerships within and outside the organization.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with client-facing interactions.
  • Demonstrated organizational follow-through and the ability to solve complex problems while removing obstacles for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight for the TMC, ensuring that all operational, financial, and customer commitments are met.
  • Direct the Transportation Operations team, setting clear expectations and driving a culture of accountability through consistent feedback.
  • Deliver internal and customer results regarding cost, service, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs and guide data-driven initiatives to improve service KPIs.
  • Participate in financial reviews and work with Finance partners to understand P&L drivers and achieve financial targets.
  • Own the communication of corporate initiatives and partner with the Strategic Partnership (SP) Director to ensure consistency across customer networks.
  • Collaborate with IT and the PMO team to enhance reporting outputs in BI tools and lead actionable process improvements.
  • Lead the performance management process, including coaching managers, succession planning, and overseeing effective onboarding for new hires.
