The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for building and implementing the overall total rewards strategy for EDF power solutions North America. This role leads the Compensation and Benefits and Payroll functions, establishing programs and policies that ensure our offerings are rewarding, competitive, and aligned with company goals. You will support human capital initiatives and partner with business leaders to enhance our ability to attract, engage, and retain top-tier talent.

Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, HR, Finance, or Accounting preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in benefits and compensation management.
  • Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing a team of HR professionals.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of ERISA law, compensation methodologies, and multi-state payroll compliance.
  • Leave Management: Expertise in FMLA, workers' compensation, and leave-related laws.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into actionable people strategies.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate complex topics to both line employees and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Philosophy Development: Partner with the CHRO, VP of HR, and company leadership to evolve and strengthen our competitive compensation and benefits philosophy.
  • Global Strategy: Advance global total rewards strategies, recommending specific objectives tailored to the organization’s current needs while anticipating future demands.
  • Program Innovation: Lead the strategic design of innovative cash, short-term incentive (STI), long-term incentive (LTI) and health and wellness programs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner strategically with key stakeholders to ensure the planning, design, and governance of all plans meet corporate strategic objectives.
  • Program Delivery: Responsible for the ongoing delivery of all health and welfare programs and the management of defined contribution retirement plans.
  • Evaluation & Analysis: Conduct gap analysis and market research to ensure benefits are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with a culture of wellbeing.
  • Vendor Relations: Partner with benefits brokers to select and manage third-party vendor contracts.
  • Compliance & Leave: Manage the administration of all leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA, parental leave, STD, etc.) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee payroll operations to ensure employees are paid accurately and timely and compensation programs to attract, retain and motivate staff.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and benefit deductions.
  • Communications: Design and distribute materials, summary plan descriptions (SPDs), and enrollment guides.
  • Training: Lead informational sessions and training for managers and employees on benefits and wellness initiatives.
  • Inquiry Resolution: Resolve complex benefit inquiries relating to eligibility, 401(k), and status changes, using trends to identify broader training needs.
