About The Position

The Director for the Teaching and Learning Center will be responsible for effectively managing multiple programs and initiatives. They will work with the Vice President of Scholarships and Programs (VPSP) to develop innovative strategies for academic and professional development programs for UNCF member institutions, HBCUs, and UNCF itself. They will also engage with consultants to coordinate UNCF member institution needs and offer guidance and recommendations for paths forward. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and at least 8 years of work experience with 3 years in program management.
  • Ability to assess programs associated with college student services.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and deal effectively with multiple constituencies.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse racial/ethnic communities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in curriculum design, instructional technology, and research design is a plus
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the general management and administration of programs within the UNCF TLC system
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of support staff
  • Plan, organize, direct, manage and coordinate the operations within the assigned program
  • Oversee program/s and supervise staff in the assigned program area
  • Establish priorities, goals, and objectives consistent with department policies and procedures
  • Assist in the initiation and management of policies and procedures appropriate to the administration of all contracts
  • Participate in the preparation and monitoring of program budgets, work plans, and other administrative and fiscal functions
  • Determine goals and objectives; review and analyze project budgets
  • Assist the VPSP in identifying prospective grants and donors that support the work and mission of TLC/UNCF
  • Participate in writing donor reports and grant proposals
  • Carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with policies and procedures including planning, assigning, and directing work, and appraising performance
  • Ensure program compliance with donor requirements, and coordinate program activities with other organizations
  • Other duties may be assigned.
