About The Position

The Director of Supply & Planning provides leadership, direction, and accountability for the overall strategic and tactical activities in supply chain management to enable global sourcing of aerospace components and services and the end-to-end material planning, receiving, warehouse, and shipping functions for this industry leading piston aviation engine company. Leadership behavior and strategic insight to identify, create and sustain capable, business relationships while maintaining compliance with Lycoming Quality System, Federal Aviation Administration, AS9100 and adhering to Textron’s internal standards regarding ethics and professional behaviors. Leadership decision making ensures Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost are attained, to sustain and grow the business across domestic and international markets. Organizational leadership, cross cultural acumen and a comprehensive knowledge of technology, applications and global sourcing including e-commerce are required. This leader is responsible for the development and sustainment of policy, procedures, and standard work processes. The Director must measure, monitor, and mitigate risk and opportunity. The Director is responsible to develop and implement sources and processes as required to support New Product Development, new market business strategies, and existing product and service support. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Lycoming Engines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain, logistics or materials management
  • 7 years’ experience managing and directing personnel at high technical operations.
  • A solid technical background preferably with a technical degree and relevant experience in mechanical and aircraft component parts procurement and/or production control and logistics
  • The ability to direct supplier management teams during any phase of the product life cycle and should have above average experience level in maintenance, repair, operational, computer, and capital procurements.
  • Experienced in all aspects of commercial contracting.
  • Action oriented capable of leading effective people, process, and performance transformation
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with integrity
  • Experience building, managing, and developing teams.
  • Ability to prioritize actions and allocate resources
  • Provide a high level of internal customer service and adaptability by compliantly working to increase transactional speed
  • Possess high level of personal computer, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated comfort in dealing with all levels of Operations and Business Unit management.
  • Six Sigma/Lean/Database decision-making is required.
  • Teamwork approach: ability to resolve conflicts; manage complexity, strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills; ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time and knowledge of GD&T and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects for Master Scheduling, Material Planning, Production Control, Warehouse Management, Shipping, and Receiving.
  • Manage inventory levels, material flow, and logistics among suppliers, plants and customers to achieve targeted delivery lead times while minimizing working capital investment
