About The Position

The Director, Supply Chain, is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations related to GILLIG’s aftermarket parts business. This position ensures that the organization maintains efficient sourcing, procurement, inventory management, distribution, and logistics for all parts, driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop supply chain strategies, manage supplier relationships, and implement best practices that support the department’s growth and profitability goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on parts operations
  • Successful track record of leading ERP change initiatives, including system selection, implementation, and organizational adoption
  • Experience in building, launching, or expanding new warehouse facilities, including project management and coordination with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in workforce development, change management, and transformation initiatives
  • Experience working with warehouse unions to drive workforce development
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, procurement, logistics, and distribution
  • Proven ability to develop and execute supply chain strategies and manage complex projects
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with global supply chain operations and international sourcing (preferred)
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPSM) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and oversee areas of Strategic Planning, Logistics, Work Force Transformation, Process Improvement, Supplier Management, Team Leadership, Risk Management, Performance Metrics, and Inventory Optimization
  • Create and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies for sourcing parts, procurement, and distribution to support business objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize obsolescence, and maximize service levels
  • Manage the logistics network for parts transportation, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, implement supply chain best practices, and leverage technology solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Strategize with stakeholders in the planning, selection, and implementation of new ERP systems, overseeing change management activities, user training, and data migration to ensure seamless integration and continuous improvement
  • Build business cases by directing the design, construction, and commissioning of new warehouses while managing budgets, timelines, and cross-functional coordination to deliver state-of-the-art facilities aligned with business growth
  • Develop and execute workforce improvement initiatives, including training, upskilling, and organizational restructuring, to foster adaptability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture across all supply chain functions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, shortages, and compliance issues.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on supply chain performance, driving data-driven decision-making
  • Work closely with sales, operations, finance, and other departments to align supply chain activities with organizational goals
