Fareva Richmond is currently looking for a Supply Chain Director. Position Summary: The Supply Chain Director plays a vital role in providing leadership to Customer Service, Materials Management and Warehouse operations ensuring a customer-focused environment with the highest level of service, efficiency and profitability. Responsible for morale, operational effectiveness, develop/selection of staff and accomplishment of service, financial and Human Resource objectives. Must have the capability for spontaneous decision-making, judgment and communication. Operational Management • Operate the departments in an efficient manner to insure all activities are completed at minimum cost consistent with quality, safety, service, and regulatory compliance requirements. Cost control responsibilities include direct, overhead, overtime and material scrap. • Uphold and improve quality/safety/productivity standards • Works closely with other departments to monitor and improve quality/service/cost • Resolves issues that arise regarding raw and component issues, inventory, shipping and receiving and Customer satisfaction. •Leads internal and external teams to execute the annual strategic plans. • Interacts with managers in development and execution of the strategic plan as well as other problem solving /transformation teams. • Manage departmental expenses and budget People Management • Develops and maintains an effective, high morale, highly engaged work force. • Expand the application of total employee involvement processes including work redesign, empowerment, and quality and productivity improvement teams consistent with Fareva principles and values. • Pursue employee development through training, empowerment, and recognition utilizing the Performance Management Process •Provides coaching and mentoring to Associates at all levels of work group to further their development in current role as well as prepare them for future changes and or opportunities • Works with team to set SMART goals, objectives and KPIs in accordance with the organization's goals • Responsible for staff management including hiring, training coaching and development, recognition, progressive discipline up to and including termination • Communicates frequently and timely required information to all Associates in an effective matter • Directly manages exempt and non-exempt staff following Fareva's values, principles and policies Transformation Management • Drive strategy aligned to achieve continuous improvements in safety, quality, regulatory compliance, service, labor productivity, conversion cost, inventory, and customer service and asset utilization. • Demonstratives creative cost saving approaches to completing and improving tasks and processes • Have a continuous improvement process focus to drive innovative thinking and movement of our quality and service to the Customer. Be the leader and driver for such activities. Ensure all projects as such are completed on time. Compliance Management • Enforces operating procedures and systems to meet safety, quality, service, and regulatory compliance requirements of internal and external customers, and regulatory agencies, including, OSHA and the FDA. • Ensures safety and GMP compliance • Assures equipment is maintained in good operating condition

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in a technical field ie engineering or science field, Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 plus years of experience in supply chain management, minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role managing associates
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, make independent decisions, have proven experience leading change and be aggressive about taking responsibility
  • Excellent knowledge of operations
  • Demonstrated ability to run an operational area, deliver strong schedule execution and show sustainable improvement in KPIs , and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and effective listening skills
  • Ability to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo
  • Must be able to make fact base decision and think strategically
  • Demonstrate and have proven experience managing Associates
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Significant experience leading teams through periods of change
  • FMCG or automotive industry background or similar complexity with multi customer account management
  • Demonstrable experience using S&OP process and Rough Cut capacity Planning
  • Sharp in the animation of the S&OP, Master plan schedule and scheduling process implementation.
  • Good background in reshaping and managing with the team, the planning and scheduling
  • Wide use of ERP systems inc MRP – SAP is a plus (experience of implementing a new ERP system or up-grade would be a benefit)
  • Experienced in lean procurement, lean planning and stock optimization
  • Supply chain optimization including warehousing and supplier development
  • Metrics driven, clear focus on customer
  • Excel (medium – high)

Nice To Haves

  • SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Supply Chain/Quality/Six Sigma related certifications are a plus
