About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Supply Chain to lead and scale end-to-end supply chain operations for a small manufacturing company. This role owns supply chain strategy and execution across planning, procurement, supplier management, logistics, and inventory, with a strong focus on operational excellence, cost control, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a lean environment, balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day execution.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end supply chain functions.
  • Experience operating in small, lean, or scaling manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Experience in complex, engineered, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience scaling supply chain operations to support growth or turnaround scenarios.

  • Global sourcing and international logistics experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end supply chain function, aligning strategy with production requirements, customer commitments, and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support growth, scalability, and operational resilience.
  • Serve as the primary supply chain leader and point of accountability for performance, risk, and results.
  • Oversee demand planning, materials planning, and MRP to ensure production continuity and on-time delivery.
  • Lead procurement strategy, supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality, service levels, and supply continuity.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including domestic and international suppliers.
  • Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing and contingency planning.
  • Address and resolve material shortages, quality issues, and delivery disruptions.
  • Set inventory strategies and targets to optimize working capital and support manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, freight, warehousing, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, inventory turns improvement, and reduction of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Build, standardize, and continuously improve supply chain processes suitable for a growing manufacturing organization.
  • Own supply chain data, reporting, and KPIs (e.g., OTIF, inventory turns, supplier performance, cost savings).
  • Leverage ERP/MRP systems to improve visibility, planning accuracy, and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales to align priorities and execution.
  • Support S&OP / IBP processes and long-range planning.
  • Provide clear communication to leadership on risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply chain and procurement team.
  • Establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Act as a hands-on leader and coach in daily execution.
