About The Position

As the responsible leader for Supply Chain, the primary responsibility will be establishing and overseeing purchasing & operational support strategies, policies, procedures, and processes consistent with our mission and strategic objectives. The Director of Supply Chain will actively participant and manage the work of the purchasing group in order to ensure the complete procurement needs of AIT (and its entities) are met and completed within established policies and procedures. This position is expected to possess exceptional business discernment, highly effective negotiating skills, and be of unquestionably integrity. The Director of Supply Chain has responsibility for the entire integrated supply chain – including manufacturing/production, materials management, planning/sourcing, warehousing, and logistics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering
15+ years of operations leadership experience, including multi-plant manufacturing
Demonstrated experience working in plant (manufacturing) operations, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing for a large, global, matrixed organization
High proficiency in lean manufacturing/Six Sigma.
Experience leading a large-scale transformation
Experience managing, leading, coaching, and developing multi-faceted, cross functional, and global teams.
Conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.
Customer Focus – Approaches problems and develops solutions with customer at forefront. Inspires customer focus through team and organization.
Inspire and Drive Change – Lead and develop highly matrixed teams to deliver on innovative ideas that exceed our challenging goals. Establish a higher level of consistency across teams and create a sharp focus on value-added activities/processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintains supply chain processes across the organization with a focus on continuous improvement of the flow and movement of materials and supplies
Be a strategic leader by establishing team direction and key objectives with a focus on driving continuous improvement and functional excellence.
Provides strategic direction across global businesses that add value.
Work with sales team to develop forecasting demand requirements to ensure strategic direction, positioning, and performance of the supply chain
Create and implement best in class supply chain operations, sourcing, and procurement processes, optimizing efficiency by utilizing KPI-driven performance metrics
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
Review and distribute supply chain metric outputs including inventory level and weekly trends to site leadership for review
Analyze the root cause and identify additional actions.
Implement effective Lean and continuous improvement related process improvements and spend performance (production parts and non-production)
Maintain inventory metrics and cost measures; manage material costs; drive inventory levels / accuracy / trends for site and maintain below target
Manage supply base for improved performance related to quality/OTD/Cost
Improve LTA (Long Term Agreements) penetration to reduce transaction costs
Support Site Customer Audit Support
