As a director, Supplier Food Safety & Quality, you will Supplier Strategy: Develop and execute a risk-based supplier management framework that aligns with Starbucks' mission and long-term growth objectives. Supply Chain Transformation: Lead innovation in Supply Base Management (SBM) to anticipate market trends, mitigate risks, and ensure resilience. Quality & Compliance Leadership: Champion food safety and quality standards across a vast, multi-tiered supplier network, company-owned roasting plants, and Starbucks Reserve Kitchen (SRK) locations. Process Excellence: Implement advanced process capability programs to enhance supplier reliability and consistency. Leadership: Direct, guide and manage teams across five pillars of Supplier FSQ, including Food & Non-Food Supply, Beverage Supply, Internal Manufacturing, Distribution, and Process Capability. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sourcing, distribution, transportation, manufacturing, and product development teams to optimize network performance. Incident Management: Oversee escalation protocols and Trace & Hold processes to ensure rapid resolution and protect brand reputation. Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners to drive innovation and shared value. Approach: Models leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values. Performance: Prioritizes the engagement, development and capability-building of all members of their team in service of creating a culture of high performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Global supplier management, regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, food safety compliance, strategic negotiation, and cross-functional leadership.
  • 10+ years in food and beverage industry in a quality and food safety leadership role for a multinational organization.
  • Must have held a manufacturing plant-based position in Quality and Food Safety for a food or beverage plant.
  • Deep understanding of GFSI benchmark requirements and success implementing programs capable of exceeding those requirements.

  • MBA or advanced degree in Food Science, Supply Chain, or Operations

  • Expertise in sustainability and ethical Food Safety practices
