About The Position

Lead the end-to-end execution of electric infrastructure construction projects Including distribution, substations, telecommunications, and transmission lines, ensuring safe, high-quality, and compliant delivery. Leads and oversees all phases of project construction, including constructability assessments, ensuring alignment of execution, scope, and design with stakeholder expectations, while maintaining compliance with applicable utility construction regulations and permitting requirements. Drives cross-functional collaboration among key project delivery areas to ensure efficient and coordinated progress throughout the project lifecycle. Develops and enforces construction and inspection standards across substation, distribution, and transmission line projects to ensure technical integrity and field execution consistency. Represents the company with local and federal agencies, contractors, and internal partners to support project and organizational goals. Ensures adherence by construction managers to safety protocols, quality standards, and reporting requirements to maintain regulatory alignment and operational integrity. Oversee construction activities performed by external contractors, ensuring safe, high-quality, and compliant project delivery, through effective oversight of QA/QC processes, documentation, and progress tracking, while supporting accurate invoicing and regulatory reporting. Establishes performance frameworks and leverages KPIs and metrics to monitor progress, ensure alignment with organizational goals, guide strategic initiatives, and drive continuous improvement through the implementation of new business strategies. Provides direction and mentorship to managers and supervisors to ensure consistent adherence to PMO standards, quality assurance and inspection programs, fostering excellence in execution and leadership development. Leads strategic budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure financial discipline, operational efficiency, and alignment with long-term goals. Builds and sustains a high-performance culture by mentoring leaders and promoting cross-functional collaboration, resulting in improved organizational effectiveness. Leads and supports organizational strategies for the restoration of critical services and emergency preparedness to ensure business continuity and community trust. Embraces and leads additional strategic responsibilities as needed to advance enterprise objectives and organizational resilience. Champions and models enterprise-wide adherence to governance, compliance, and ethical standards to uphold organizational integrity and regulatory alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related from an accredited university.
  • 10 years' experience in similar functional role, preferably in substation construction, protection & control systems, telecommunications construction and/or distribution and transmission programs, with responsibilities of planning, budgeting, and at least 5 years of progressive experience in a leadership or management roles overseeing multiple departments and/or functional areas.
  • Proven record managing large scale portfolio of projects.
  • Experience in budget management and preparation, and in proper administration.
  • Expert knowledge of project controls, cost estimating, risk management, regulatory reporting and utility safety.
  • Exceptional skills in project execution and contractor management.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver effective presentations and facilitate meetings as related to strategy, training, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Asset Suite).
  • Proficient with project management programs such as Microsoft Project, Primavera or other project planning software assets.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Journeyman Power Lineworker Certificate is an asset.
  • PMP or PgMP certification is preferred
  • OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred.
