About The Position

The Director of Student Resources & Programming provides strategic leadership, vision, and operational oversight for student support services and student engagement programming. This role leads a comprehensive portfolio that integrates basic needs support, counseling, disability support services, student leadership development, student organizations, and co-curricular programming to advance student retention, belonging, and success. The director champions a holistic, student-centered approach and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to strengthen access, promote equitable outcomes, and create a vibrant campus experience that contributes to persistence and completion. Salary: $60,000 - $65,000, depending on experience Rolling interviews will occur until the position is filled. Vacation Time: 5.34 each pay for first 2 years, then increases to 6.15 after 2 years. 9 Paid holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. Winter recess: The College also observes an official closing of 4 standard work week days between the observed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays. This is known as Winter Recess. Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent work experience required, preferably in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in student affairs, student support services, or student engagement within a higher education setting.
Demonstrated experience working with student support areas such as basic needs, accessibility/disability services, counseling, student organizations, or leadership programs.
Knowledge of student development theory, retention frameworks, and best practices in student engagement.
Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience supervising staff and/or student employees.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a community college or similar open-access institution.
Experience in budget development and financial management.
Experience designing or leading New Student Orientation or large-scale programming.
Knowledge of ADA regulations and experience administering academic accommodations.
Background in crisis response, care coordination, or wraparound student support services.
Familiarity with co-curricular programming and collaboration with faculty.
Experience with retention-focused initiatives, student success frameworks, or early alert/case management systems.
Demonstrated ability to incorporate data into program development, assessment, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and direction for student basic needs and support services, including IvyCares, Disability Support Services (DSS), Counseling Services, and the Food Pantry.
Ensure ADA compliance, review and grant academic accommodations, and maintain strong faculty partnerships to uphold accessibility expectations.
Develop processes, tools, and communications to ensure students are aware of and connected to available resources.
Provide guidance and strategic support to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) in alignment with Student Life goals.
Lead student leadership initiatives, including the Student Leadership Academy (SLA), Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), and the Student Government Association (SGA).
Advise and support student clubs and organizations, overseeing recognition, renewal, officer training, advisor development, and risk management.
Strengthen student engagement pathways that foster belonging, leadership skill development, and continued enrollment.
Develop assessment processes that measure the impact of leadership programs and organizations on persistence and completion.
Partner with academic and student service teams to connect involvement efforts to retention strategies.
Lead planning and execution of major campus-wide events, including Welcome Week, GradFest, Days of Service, and statewide initiatives such as cultural and professional development programs.
Oversee development, staffing, logistics, and assessment for all Student Life programming.
Provide strategic direction for the creation and delivery of New Student Orientation (NSO), ensuring it integrates academic, social, and resource-based components that support student readiness.
Collaborate with faculty to design and implement co-curricular programming that enhances classroom learning and supports student outcomes.
Maintain a coordinated annual programming calendar, communication plan, and branding strategy to ensure students know how and where to engage.
Manage budgets for student resources, student life, and student support services.
Programming units; ensure effective use of funds in alignment with institutional priorities.
Supervise, hire, train, and support staff within the unit; promote a collaborative, student-focused team culture.
Ensure ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of all programs, services, and initiatives.
Engage in college-wide committees, professional development, and initiatives that support student retention and success.
