About The Position

The Director, AM Strategy & Planning will lead and manage a variety of activities in support of Fidelity’s Asset Management business unit. As part of the Asset Management Strategy & Planning team, this individual will be a multi-faceted contributor to Fidelity’s Asset Management organization, crafting our strategic plan, developing key initiatives to drive the business forward, and ensuring clear and consistent messaging of our business strategy. Asset Management Strategy & Planning is responsible for defining and communicating Asset Management’s business unit strategy, as well as helping to execute on our strategic plan and top priorities. The team also plays a key role in scanning the external industry landscape for competitive trends, opportunities, and threats. Sitting within the Asset Management Finance organization, AM Strategy & Planning interacts frequently with leaders across the business, including the CFO of Asset Management, the Head of Asset Management, and other members of the Senior Management Team. Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to roles listed as Remote or Onsite.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years management consulting, strategic planning, or management experience
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including an ability to independently structure problems, complete analysis, and communicate findings
  • Experience leading & contributing to strategic projects and working with senior partners
  • Deep interest in the asset management industry and a focus on continuous learning
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and maintain an agile mentality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong academic credentials: MBA, CFA or other relevant advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leading or contributing to strategic project work to identify and assess strategic, competitive, and operational improvement opportunities for the Asset Management Division
  • Participating in the team’s Competitive Intelligence efforts, including developing industry insights and completing time-sensitive analysis of key events (e.g., mergers and acquisitions)
  • Helping facilitate AM’s Multi-Year Planning process and ensure alignment with Enterprise-wide planning processes and priorities
