We are seeking a Director of Strategy & Analytics to be the architect of our mid-to-long-term business roadmap and the engine of data-driven decision-making across Boston Dynamics. This high-impact, cross-functional role is focused on translating our world-class engineering milestones into commercial growth and market leadership through rigorous analytical frameworks and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is a quantitative "problem solver" who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to lead a high-performing team, partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team to define where our robots go next and how we measure success. We are growing rapidly, building a commercial company that delivers cutting edge technology and solutions to our customers from industrial applications to logistics and warehouse solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years in a high-growth tech environment, Tier 1 management consulting, investment banking, or a corporate strategy role, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
  • Analytical Black Belt: Expert-level financial modeling and data visualization skills; ability to distill millions of data points into a compelling, clear narrative.
  • Startup Mindset: Demonstrated "driver" personality with a high comfort level in the ambiguity of a rapidly evolving hardware and software landscape.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to speak "Robot" with engineers and "ROI" with executives, bridging technical and commercial gaps with ease.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with C-suite executives and drive alignment across Product, Sales, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Market Expansion Own the Long-Range Plan (LRP): Lead the 3-5 year business planning cycle, clearly articulating the market opportunity, competitive advantage, and path to scale for existing products like Spot and Stretch, as well as future initiatives.
  • Market Entry & Sizing: Conduct deep-dive market sizing and build "Go/No-Go" frameworks for new geographies, industries, and use cases to inform capital allocation and product strategy.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Maintain in-depth research on the robotics and automation landscape, analyzing competitor moves and industry trends to benchmark Boston Dynamics' global positioning.
  • Cross-Functional Analytics and Data Synthesis Internal Consultancy Support: Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Product, and Operations, providing data-driven insights and analytical support to optimize the entire value chain.
  • Define Operating Metrics: Partner with internal teams to identify, standardize, and track the most meaningful KPIs that drive enterprise value and operational efficiency.
  • Executive & Board Communication: Design and manage the production of high-quality reports and presentations for the Board of Directors and senior management, distilling complex data into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Team Leadership and Project Management High-Performing Team Management: Mentor and scale an elite team of strategists and analysts, fostering a culture of extreme rigor, curiosity, and speed.
  • "Jack of All Trades" Support: Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and CFO on high-priority strategic projects, managing end-to-end execution from initial data gathering to final executive briefing.
