About The Position

Leads the development and execution of GuideStone’s strategic vendor management framework, serving as the enterprise quarterback for all vendor/supplier activities. This role drives efficiency, risk mitigation, and financial stewardship by overseeing or assisting in various enterprise processes, including for RFPs, technology analysis, program management, contracting and negotiation, third-party risk (including cyber/AI), payment setup, performance review, and vendor lifecycle management. Builds strong cross-functional relationships and guides the organization toward optimal vendor decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in vendor management, procurement, operations, or supply chain.
  • Broad business acumen and proven leadership in strategic areas, preferably vendor management.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with vendor management software/tools preferred.
  • Ability to drive change and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management framework, including policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of vendor management activities with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic vendor initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Oversee RFP processes, vendor selection, onboarding, and classification as either leader or key resource.
  • Guide technology analysis and recommend consolidation opportunities.
  • Manage contract negotiations, terms, and conditions with support from Legal and/or outside parties.
  • Partner with Admin, Risk & Compliance (ARC) as they oversee third-party risk management, including cyber and AI risks.
  • Partner with ARC to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for vendor performance.
  • Conduct regular vendor reviews with the support and help of the business relationship owners and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Champion process efficiency and resource optimization.
  • Integrate technology solutions to streamline vendor management activities.
  • Document and maintain vendor management processes and policies.
  • Responsible for leading cross-functional teams and may supervise vendor management staff, if any.
  • Indirectly manages processes and influences decision-making across departments.
