The Strategic Partnerships and Corporate Development team sits at the center of Unity’s most complex and consequential growth initiatives. We are a high-performing, deeply cross-functional group that drives near-term revenue and long-term strategic advantage by structuring partnerships, incubating new lines of business, and solving ambiguous problems that span Games, Industry, and Ads—including initiatives at the intersection of AI, data, and the Unity runtime. Acting as the connective tissue for Unity’s most important partners and opportunities, the team is frequently called upon to break down internal barriers, step into areas without clear ownership, and translate strategy into execution. We take a Unity-first approach, measuring success not by what we own, but by the company-wide outcomes we help unlock. We are seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead high-impact alliances that advance Unity’s engine, editor, AI-enabled capabilities, Ads/Monetization, and Industry Solutions. In this role, you will source, evaluate, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships—working closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership to accelerate revenue, expand market presence, and build durable long-term enterprise value. You will develop a deep understanding of Unity’s technology, AI strategy, monetization strategy, and product roadmap to identify partners that help Unity enter new markets and scale new businesses.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, corporate development, or related roles at software or platform companies; experience in game tech, developer tools, cloud, ad tech, AI, or RT3D preferred.
  • Proven track record sourcing, negotiating, and scaling complex partnerships with measurable impact on revenue, adoption, or monetization.
  • Deep familiarity with the mobile ads ecosystem, including mediation platforms (e.g., LevelPlay, MAX, AdMob), demand partners and DSPs, ad networks, in-app bidding vs. waterfall, core formats (rewarded video, interstitial, banner, native), ATT/IDFA and Google Play policies, IAB standards, fraud/IVT controls, and publisher monetization metrics (eCPM, fill rate, ARPDAU).
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including partnership modeling, pricing, revenue share, incentives, and KPI design.
  • Technical fluency to evaluate SDK/API integrations, engine/editor workflows, runtime performance, cloud architectures, and AI-enabled tooling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional execution with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, executive-ready materials (e.g., strategy memos, deal summaries, business cases, and partner communications).
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Corporate development (M&A/JVs) and/or investment banking experience is a plus.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support advertising strategy by structuring partnerships with networks, monetization platforms, measurement, and data providers.
  • Lead strategy, structuring, and negotiation of key partnership agreements, including developing clear commercial frameworks and defining technical scope.
  • Identify, validate, and launch new partnership-driven programs across areas such as AI tooling and AI runtime, the mobile ads ecosystem, and eCommerce.
  • Develop business cases for partnerships, investments, and acquisitions that enhance creator tools, runtime performance, AI capabilities, distribution, and monetization.
  • Drive build-vs-buy-vs-partner assessments for new capabilities and markets, defining the optimal path to scale Unity’s engine, AI, Ads, and Industry businesses.
  • Align execution with leaders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal; remove roadblocks and ensure focus.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and HR on IP, compliance, valuation, forecasting, and M&A-related strategy, diligence and integration.
