Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs organizations
  • Understanding of drug development and lifecycle managements, medical affairs operations, and compliance/legal/finance requirements across Medical Affairs
  • Proven ability to manage budget, and internal & external resources
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and negotiating skills
  • Highly influential with demonstrated ability to create and lead successful cross-functional teams
  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of the organization
  • Exercises foresight and judgment in making complex decisions
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing project scope and direction
  • Must demonstrate energy and enthusiasm
  • High ethics and integrity standards; ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Advanced software skills, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and motivate the USMA Strategic Business Planning & Execution Team.
  • Foster cross-functional engagement and build an effective network within the organization through dynamic collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement in strategic planning and performance management, collaborating as an active thought partner.
  • Ensure effective delivery of key strategic programs and business operations activities.
  • Drive annual enterprise strategy development and local adoption.
  • Communicate progress against performance targets and evolve tracking methods for business health and performance trends.
  • Identify and monitor significant performance measures for US Medical Affairs.
  • Develop novel data overlaps and trends to identify future opportunities or remediation plans.
  • Facilitate strategic alignment across US Medical Affairs and key cross-functional partners.
  • Coordinate tactical plans and metrics reporting, communicating with collaborators from inception through execution.
  • Lead annual budget planning, quarterly re-forecasts, and financial requests, identifying key opportunities and risks.
  • Drive all financial planning activities, including budgeting, re-forecasting, long-range planning, and pipeline business plans.
  • Manage contracting, e-requisition, purchase order generation, and vendor onboarding processes.
  • Report, track, and develop a carbon budget to support sustainability targets.
  • Oversee HCP Engagement, Sponsorship review, and audit compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems and identify early areas of potential risk with Compliance and Legal.
  • Lead real-time team communications for increased clarity.
  • Develop innovative ways to share information with the team.
  • Create training applying adult learning principles for process understanding.
