About The Position

Summary Provides expert leadership in the planning, coordination, and direction of specialty pharmacy operations for the enterprise. Responsible for the direct supervision, development, and leadership of Specialty Pharmacy Managers with oversight of embedded teams in specialty medical group clinics, hospital departments, and centralized specialty pharmacy call center. Responsible for development, and leadership of the Specialty Pharmacy Technician Supervisor in the market. This position is accountable for regulatory compliance and optimization of operational efficiency by providing oversight for budget, staffing, workflow, and productivity. Assists AVP, Pharmacy Ambulatory Operations & PBM with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives pertaining to specialty pharmacy operations, clinical services, quality assurance, and leadership development. Monitors key specialty pharmacy performance indicators and informs plans for continued improvement. Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a System Director, Specialty Pharmacy to join our team at our Central Pharmacy, LaGrange, KY! Oversees hiring, onboarding, supervision, performance evaluation, and development of Specialty Pharmacy Managers. Supports the hiring process for specialty pharmacy leadership roles, including Technician Supervisors and Ambulatory Pharmacy compliance team members. Ensures a supervisory environment that promotes productivity, performance, and the wellbeing of employees in specialty departments. Fosters a sense of organizational ownership within the team to manage change and achieve organizational goals. In the absence of the AVP, Specialty Pharmacy & PBM, directs the ongoing specialty pharmacy functions at the specialty pharmacy clinics in coordination with the Chief Pharmacy Officer, including employee training and development, managing pharmacy budgets, and approving marketing activities. Collaborates with the AVP, Pharmacy Ambulatory Operations & PBM to manage the operating budget and ensure budget accountability. Regularly reviews financial and productivity reports to align staffing expenses with patient enrollments and prescription dispensing. Works with the AVP, Pharmacy Ambulatory Operations & PBM to assess clinic performance, consider expansion needs, and update budgets in coordination with the healthcare system. Designs, implements, and evaluates ongoing workflow and design changes to enhance service quality, productivity, and resource utilization. Collaborates with the AVP, Pharmacy Ambulatory Operations & PBM to formulate and drive the expansion goals for the specialty pharmacy program. Identifies opportunities for program enhancement and requests necessary resources to support new initiatives. Develops and implements programs to improve medication therapy management services and leverage technological advancements. Works with the AVP, Pharmacy Ambulatory Operations & PBM and other BH leaders to implement, integrate, and uphold evidence-based and regulatory standards for clinical and operational pharmacy services, aligning with the organization's overall vision. Maintains strategic tracking tools to monitor the progress of the program's strategic initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, MBA preferred, or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
  • Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license required.
  • 5 years of specialty pharmacy experience required.
  • 3 years of direct management experience required.
