About The Position

We are seeking an experienced IT Development Leader to join our team supporting our Specialized Services group.  In this role you will helping to ensure delivery excellence and driving company growth by contributing to the discovery and leadership of new technology innovations and initiatives that will expand our company’s offerings. The Director, Specialized Services role strengthens delivery performance by establishing standards for execution discipline, improving early risk visibility, and supporting leadership priorities, directives, and organizational initiatives with consistent standards, clear communication and leadership to the program teams, and actionable insight as the organization continues to mature. This role will strengthen the confidence and satisfaction of our Program Managers by adding a supportive leadership layer that interacts with them daily and can relate based on proximity to each program, helping to resolve issues and provide guidance in a quicker and more efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Clearance: VA Public Trust
  • Education: Bachelors degree or higher in an applicable field
  • Any specific domain experience: Agile program delivery of $20M+ TCV federal IT contracts
  • Required hard skills, tools, frameworks, technologies, etc. with years of experience: 10+ years Agile software development and leadership experience, 5+ years Cloud development leadership, 5+ years SaaS/PaaS/IaaS delivery experience, 15 years of Program Management experience
  • Outstanding oral and written communication
  • Exceptional client relationship skills
  • Ninja-level cross-functional team building and leadership skills and experience

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of VP of Specialized Services, help establish and maintain consistent delivery standards across programs, including planning, execution, risk management, and escalation.
  • Reinforce a common way of working while allowing appropriate program-level tailoring.
  • Ensure delivery methodologies and supporting documentation remain current and practical.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships across the organization for the exchange of ideas and decision-making around best-value, biggest-gain delivery standardization for the entire company.
  • Act as first-line leadership to Program Managers, supporting their program delivery success and obstacle clearance.
  • Establish and conduct cadenced internal group and individual Program Management tag-ups in support of programs.
  • Where necessary, in the absence of a Program Manager or designated second, embed within day-to-day delivery operations to monitor and direct delivery execution and ensure client-facing and internal deliverables are met.
  • Identify execution variances early and support timely remediation before issues become client visible.
  • Engage directly with delivery teams as needed to reinforce expectations and execution discipline.
  • Maintain meaningful relationships with program customers where Sprezz is Prime or the Lead for the JV, ensuring that trust and confidence remain at the highest level possible for that particular client.
  • Oversee hiring compliance and that appropriate staffing levels are always maintained.
  • Keep VP of Specialized Services briefed daily on program delivery status
  • Provide early visibility into delivery and financial risks across programs, including schedule, staffing, scope, and cost drivers.
  • Reinforce disciplined EAC management, forecasting, and financial accountability in partnership with Program Leadership, and train or retrain as necessary.
  • Support active tracking and mitigation of identified risks.
  • Keep data current and available for leadership. Notify and brief leadership with anomalies, highlights, and high priority items immediately.
  • Serve as a trusted extension of delivery leadership by synthesizing program insights into clear, actionable information.
  • Support strategic initiatives led by delivery leadership by providing execution perspective, readiness assessment, and risk awareness.
  • Act as a delivery touchpoint for the Growth team, providing execution input and reach-back to inform proposal efforts and transitions.
  • Coordinate with corporate functions (e.g., Contracts, Finance, HR, Business Operations, Quality) to support effective execution and alignment.
  • Support leadership briefings and materials related to delivery performance, readiness, and execution risk.
