About The Position

Position Description: Designs, develops, and supports highly scalable, secure financial services and professional brokerage Web applications within an alternative investment platform. Conducts order entry, transaction tracking, order, position, transfer, cash, margin approval management, multi-account data aggregation, and market data research according to Agile methodologies. Publishes APIs to Enterprise API exchange. Creates Jenkins pipelines to build source code and deploy Docker images to Cloud platforms. Maintains contracts in Swagger Hub. Maintains source code using Git. Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing and designing scalable multi-tier applications.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing and designing scalable multi-tier applications.
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable, secure financial services and professional brokerage Web applications within an alternative investment platform; and conducting order entry, transaction tracking, order, position, transfer, cash, margin approval management, multi-account data aggregation, and market data research according to Agile methodologies.
DE designing and developing Single Page Applications (SPAs) and responsive UIs, using JavaScript, Angular, HTML5 Bootstrap, and CSS; and developing NPM plug-ins for enterprise portal containers to create embedded screens integrated with Cloud containers and JSON-RPC messaging interface, using multi-threaded and real-time algorithms.
DE designing and developing 12 factor Cloud complaint backend business APIs in an alternative investment trading domain, using NodeJS, Java, and Spring Boot Framework; securing Web applications and APIs, using JWT Tokenized Security, APIGEE, and OAUTH processing; publishing APIs to enterprise API exchange; creating Jenkins pipelines to build source code and deploy Docker images to Cloud platforms; maintaining contracts in Swagger Hub; and maintaining source code using Git.
DE developing and generating performance reports and mitigating technical and security improvements for Microservices architecture (to develop highly scalable and optimized applications), using JMeter, LoadRunner, and BURP Suite; and performing monitoring and automation testing, using Datadog, Selenium, Karate framework, and Gherkin programming language.

Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Researches and recommends new technologies.
Works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.
Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
