About The Position

The Director, DDG Global Social Media & Content Strategy is responsible for developing and executing the Global Social Content Strategy and influencing content development that can be used on paid/owned social channels and leveraged across digital platforms. This role is responsible for establishing the roadmap to win on key platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook as well as leading innovative ideas for content that can be scalable and unique to DDG across digital platforms (paid media, E-Commerce). This role will also provide guidance to markets with their own social owned brand channels and liaise with key strategic partners (Sephora/Mecca) on leveraging brand led social assets.

Requirements

  • BS/BA required
  • 8-10 Years of social media experience, preferably in a beauty, fashion or luxury lifestyle environment
  • Active and highly engaged within social media, with a finger on the pulse of emerging platforms, surfaces and trends
  • Comfortable with data, with an intimate understanding of how data informs social strategy and content
  • A creative problem solver, with a strong attention to detail
  • Resourceful and proactive, able to think a step ahead and anticipate needs
  • Proactive and self-sufficient with the ability to manage up, down and across
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas and processes in a simplified manner
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills - a self-described “people-person,” comfortable speaking with all levels of an organization
  • Collaborative and positive, demonstrating maturity and presence
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and accelerate the brand’s Global Social footprint, inclusive of all owned platforms with a strong focus on priority channels TikTok and Instagram
  • Drive evolution of content strategy with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Build differentiating social campaigns and programming designed to nurture community, support acquisition and drive engagement
  • Support digital innovation initiatives with an owned strategy to drive awareness with DDG audiences.
  • Concept social-first content for key platforms/surfaces, partnering with DDG Creative as well as external content partners on production of assets
  • Key partner to Global Marketing, E-Commerce, Creative, Paid Media on the development on short form video content that can be leveraged across digital surfaces
  • Partner with priority markets, including the U.S., AU, UK on content requests and compelling social co-op opportunities driving to key specialty retailers, notably Sephora, and Mecca.
  • Oversee community management strategy, inclusive of response protocol and crisis response
  • Review and approve monthly content calendars for secondary Global Social platforms (e.g. Facebook + Twitter)
  • Oversee and approve monthly and project-specific social media reporting – responsible for actioning key insights and driving evolution and change for DDG to remain digital first amongst competition. You will perform other duties as assigned.
