The Director, Social Impact role leads FTI’s strategic, business‑aligned social impact and community investment initiatives, ensuring all efforts strengthen FTI’s competitive position, support market expansion, enhance customer relationships, and reinforce FTI’s commitment to leading with energy. Leading the development of mission-driven partnerships, the Director, Social Impact creates initiatives that deliver measurable value for both nonprofit partners and FTI’s long-term business objectives, including talent pipeline development, public relationships, renewable energy leadership, and customer trust. Will lead the execution of strategic investments, in-kind contributions, and collaborative opportunities to support the growth of FTI’s core business and commitment to sustainable impact.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in strategic philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, or related fields.
  • Travel: 5-10%
  • Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
  • Work Location: This role follows a hybrid work model, offering a blend of onsite collaboration and remote flexibility. Team members are required to spend part of their week onsite at our Menahsa, WI office to support teamwork, learning, and in ‑ person connection, while enjoying the autonomy and focus that remote work provides. We strive to provide a balanced, flexible environment that supports both productivity and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies nonprofit and community partnerships that deliver measurable business value (e.g., workforce development, energy programs aligned to client priorities).
  • Partners with the Strategy, Business Development, Operations and Talent teams across FTI to ensure philanthropic efforts support FTI’s growth objectives.
  • Cultivates relationships with nonprofits and community organizations that align with FTI’s energy mission and support the company’s regional and national footprint.
  • Acts as a thought partner to nonprofits, helping integrate renewable energy solutions that demonstrate FTI’s leadership and creates impactful success stories.
  • Represents FTI at industry, customer and community events that advance business goals and creates measurable value.
  • Supports initiatives that strengthen relationships with key customers and utilities or municipalities by aligning philanthropy to their priorities (e.g., STEM, sustainability, energy equity, workforce development).
  • Explores and recommends innovative giving approaches (e.g., energy-as-a-service models, renewable energy microgrants, and impact investment opportunities) that prioritizes long-term impact over transactional donations, as guided by executive leadership.
  • Develops ROI-driven metrics that measure value to nonprofits and FTI (e.g., workforce pipeline outcomes, permitting/municipal relationships, brand visibility, customer alignment, energy savings).
  • Ensures all giving activities adhere to legal, ethical, and corporate governance standards.
  • Maintains accurate tracking of commitments, partnerships, and outcomes.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
