THE ROLE As the District Manager for SLED West, you will spearhead our expansion into the State, Local, and Education markets by leading a high-caliber team of Account Executives. You aren't just managing a territory; you are architecting a high-growth engine that delivers modern data experiences to public sector institutions. By collaborating with cross-functional leaders in Engineering and Channels, you will transform complex sales strategies into seamless execution, ensuring Pure Storage remains the gold standard for infrastructure in the West.

Requirements

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Expert-level ability to lead field sales teams within the IT infrastructure or storage industry, specifically focused on navigating the nuances of the SLED market.
  • Communication & Executive Presence: Exceptional persuasive skills with the ability to articulate complex value propositions to C-suite IT leaders and public sector stakeholders.
  • Talent Development: A proven track record of identifying high-potential talent and developing associates into top-performing sales professionals.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Mastery of CRM tools and data-driven decision-making to identify root causes, solve sales bottlenecks, and execute complex territory strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and Scale the Team: Own the end-to-end talent lifecycle by recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top-tier Account Executives and Systems Engineers to meet the evolving demands of the SLED West business.
  • Drive Predictable Revenue Growth: Lead the team to achieve annual bookings and new logo targets, maintaining a rigorous 4X pipeline-to-quota ratio through precise forecasting and active POC management.
  • Galvanize the Channel Ecosystem: Build and sustain strategic alliances with channel partner principals and leadership, ensuring Pure is the preferred partner for their most critical public sector accounts.
  • Execute Strategic Territory Planning: Provide executive-level direction on complex sales cycles, coordinating internal resources and participating in high-stakes presentations to close business and expand our footprint.
  • Operational Excellence: Foster a culture of accountability and high performance by managing team KPIs, conducting weekly pipeline reviews, and ensuring every team member is positioned to over-achieve their quota.
