We are here to fundamentally transform the $800B specialty chemicals industry - making it more transparent, efficient, and globally connected through new-age technology. Our offices are in New Jersey, Mumbai and Gurgaon. As we aggressively expand our North American footprint, we are looking for a Director - Sales to lead our US market entry and growth strategy. You will be a key driver in establishing Elchemy as the preferred sourcing partner for top manufacturers and distributors in the US.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of sales & business development experience, with a significant background in specialty chemicals or preferably chemical distribution.
  • Proven ability to open new markets and secure "big-ticket" enterprise accounts.
  • Comfortable working within a tech-enabled startup environment; experience using CRM data and digital platforms to drive sales efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Business
  • A startup enthusiast who is comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the challenge of building a business from the ground up in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive individual revenue targets for the US market through direct sales execution
  • Build, manage, and close a strong pipeline of mid-to-large enterprise customers across specialty chemical segments
  • Lead the entire sales cycle end-to-end - from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and deal closure
  • Develop deep relationships with procurement, R&D, and commercial stakeholders at customer organizations
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer use cases, and high-potential product categories within the US market
  • Work closely with sourcing, operations, and tech teams to ensure seamless fulfillment and customer experience
  • Represent Elchemy in customer meetings, industry forums, and trade events in the US
  • Track, forecast, and report sales performance with discipline, using CRM and data-driven insights
  • Continuously refine sales messaging and GTM playbooks based on on-ground customer feedback
