The Director, Sales & Marketing – Established Brands is a senior commercial leader within ANI’s Established Brands business unit, reporting to the SVP, Head of Established Brands. This role drives commercial execution across ANI’s portfolio of promoted and non-promoted established pharmaceutical products, with responsibility for sales, marketing, market development, and key customer engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role for a commercially minded executive who can operate effectively in a lean environment while spearheading execution, developing teams, engaging customers, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver growth. The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical commercial experience in emerging/growth-oriented environments and a history of translating strategy into results.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive pharmaceutical commercial experience, including 5–7 years in leadership roles with success in specialty sales and brand management.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial strategy, tactical execution, and hands-on leadership.
  • Proven ability to launch or revitalize products in competitive markets.
  • Experience selecting and managing third-party vendors to support marketing execution.
  • Experience with specialty distribution, patient access, and product launch activities.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. healthcare market, payer access, specialty distribution, patient support services, and commercial systems such as IQVIA, Veeva, and Salesforce.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

  • Experience in small, emerging, or growth-stage pharmaceutical companies operating in resource-constrained environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the commercial strategy for ANI’s Established Brands portfolio, aligning commercial plans with business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Use market data, customer insights, and performance metrics to identify opportunities, refine tactics, and address performance gaps.
  • Develop data-driven, customer-focused marketing programs across personal and non-personal channels.
  • Lead the sales organization with a hands-on approach, including field engagement, joint sales calls, coaching, and account planning.
  • Partner with the SVP, Head of Established Brands and Field Operations to optimize call plans, incentive design, territory alignment, goal setting, and resource allocation.
  • Support execution in the field to ensure alignment, accountability, and performance.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop commercial talent to drive engagement, accountability, and performance.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Training and Field Development to ensure the team has the capabilities and tools needed to succeed.
  • Oversee key commercial support programs, including patient access, credentialing, and conference/event planning.
  • Identify, manage, and optimize third-party vendors to maximize value and support business needs.
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc initiatives as assigned by the SVP, Head of Established Brands.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Field Operations, Human Resources, Legal/Compliance, Regulatory, and Finance to support coordinated commercial execution.
  • Ensure all activities align with industry standards and ANI policies.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, ensuring timely execution and proactive resolution of challenges.
  • Lead regional and national meetings and conduct field visits to drive alignment, motivation, and consistent results.
