About The Position

This position reports directly to the VP -- Enterprise Sales with the primary mission to operate a self-sufficient solutions engineering team that drives new acquisitions and retains profitable customers by providing superior technical support to all segments of Hawaiian Telcom's Business Sales channels locally, regionally, and nationally. This position is responsible for leading a highly competent team that provides technical sales support and assists in the development of supportable custom solutions.

Requirements

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Over 10 years in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years leading sales engineering team
  • Minimum of 10 years in telecommunications, with experience in all aspects of voice and data networking (both wireline and wireless), hardware, infrastructure development, and operations
  • Experience with designing and engineering TCP/IP, LAN/WAN switching/routing, Optical/SONET, and SIP-based services, Desktop, Collaboration
  • Experience leading diverse teams of resources to drive new revenue opportunities
  • Highly solutions-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Business development activities including meeting with customers to define the scope for opportunities
  • Ability to articulate a strategic vision and industry/technical trends for our customers and sales teams
  • Assess opportunities/threats and develop solution strategies that enable business accounts to have a sustainable competitive advantage and to grow revenue
  • Work closely with Product Management, Product Development, and Network leadership on short and long term solution strategies
  • Hire, develop, and maintain a team of subject matter experts that are viewed by customers as having superior knowledge in complex voice and data network solutions
  • Responsible to develop, design, and price solutions that grow and protect Business Markets recurring revenue base of over $500+
  • Sales effectiveness monitoring/tracking
