About The Position

We are seeking a strategic, execution-oriented Director of Sales & Proposal Operations to lead a high-impact team responsible for elevating how we show up in competitive sales cycles. This leader will oversee RFP writers and proposal project managers—ensuring consistent excellence across proposals, demos, bill tests, and executive-level sales materials. This director will modernize and streamline our sales content workflows, deepen AI-enabled proposal automation, and improve cross-functional orchestration with Sales, Product, Operations, and Customer Intelligence.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required with 7+ years of experience in proposal management or sales enablement
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience with RFP platforms (RFPIO/Responsive, Loopio, etc.) and familiarity with Salesforce
  • Proficiency in generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) and experience implementing AI or automation in sales workflows
  • Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills with exceptional attention to content quality
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Strong project management skills and stakeholder management ability.
  • Exceptional communication, editing, and content quality review capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with an operational mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of RFP and proposal project managers, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and scale repeatable processes for content development and bill test execution.
  • Adaptively manage team priorities amid changing business demands, reprioritizations, and escalations. Ensure agility with urgent requests without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Optimize resource allocation by aligning assignments with team members’ unique strengths and professional expertise. Leverage individual capabilities to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Maintain oversight of RFP discussions, product presentations, and client demonstrations to ensure alignment with business objectives. Act as a strategic partner to Sales and Client Success.
  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership through direct involvement in high-stakes opportunities, including major client deals and strategic proposals. Serve as an escalation point and thought leader during critical engagements.
  • Oversee the creation, optimization, and governance of high-quality RFP responses, sales documents, and customer-facing presentations with consistent brand and value messaging.
  • Ensure consistent value messaging and compliance with brand & product positioning.
  • Maintain and optimize the RFP content library, ensuring accuracy, metadata quality, version control, and searchability.
  • Champion and leverage AI tools (e.g., RFPIO/Responsive, ChatGPT, Salesforce automations) to improve draft quality, efficiency, and personalization.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and workflow enhancements to reduce cycle times and elevate output quality.
  • Oversee delivery of sales demos and customer presentations aligned with product capabilities.
  • Oversee bill tests, ensuring accuracy, coordination across SMEs, and on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with Sales & Client Success teams to ensure alignment, representing the team in executive discussions with proposal insights.
  • Monitor content usage, performance, and win-rate correlations for strategic improvements.
  • Manage KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for team efficiency and impact.

  • Benefits eligibility may differ depending on full-time or part-time status.
  • Compensation depends on the applicable US geographic market.
  • The expected base pay for this position ranges from $158,000 - 165,000 salary, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
