Job Description: The Director, Reporting and Data Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing the operational objectives, policies, and work plans for Cotality’s Workforce Management (WFM) data infrastructure. This leader bridges the gap between complex technical data architecture and executive-level business strategy, ensuring that reporting outputs drive high-quality decision-making across the enterprise. You will lead a team of professionals, ensuring that our data storytelling is both technically accurate and strategically aligned with organizational goals. What is the role? As a Director, you are accountable for the performance and results of a critical functional department. You will: Establish Operational Objectives: Define the technical roadmap and procedures for data management that affect immediate operations and potentially have company-wide effects. Manage Knowledge & Application: Utilize advanced professional expertise to direct the application of reporting concepts and guide the development of new policies and ideas within the WFM space. Budgetary Oversight: Maintain accountability for the department budget, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to meet far-reaching business objectives. What will you be doing? Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute company policies and work plans, delegating assignments to a team of professionals to ensure operational effectiveness. Technical Stewardship: Act as the ultimate subject matter expert for the Tableau architecture and BigQuery environment, conducting high-level technical reviews to maintain rigorous standards for accuracy and performance. Data Storytelling: Establish a culture of "Insights to Action," transforming complex datasets into intuitive executive visualizations that allow stakeholders to navigate high-pressure environments. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team (onshore and offshore), overseeing the professional development of experienced individual contributors. Operational Partnership: Partner with Operations leaders and other COE management teams to implement data solutions that streamline internal workflows and improve the customer experience. Predictive Modeling: Lead the creation of complex predictive models and capacity simulations to dictate resource allocation and staffing levels.

Requirements

  • Complex Problem Solving: You are adept at working on complex issues where problems are not clearly defined and fundamental principles may not fully apply, requiring the evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Decisive Judgment: You exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results that impact the entire function.
  • Strategic Collaboration: You are a captivating storyteller capable of influencing diverse stakeholders and senior management, often creating formal networks to coordinate between different functional groups.
  • Technical Fluency: While prioritizing strategy, you maintain the ability to "talk the talk" with highly technical teams, advising on difficult matters and influencing technical roadmaps.
  • Education: Typically requires a Master’s degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science) or a significant level of equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in BI/Data Management with a proven track record of managing teams of technical professionals.
  • Technical Stack: Expert proficiency in Tableau architecture, Google BigQuery (GBQ), Python/R, and legacy SSRS.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience implementing system alignments with complex business processes.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills; and proven ability to present to an executive audience in a compelling way.
  • Forecasting Modeling: Strong understanding of forecasting modeling and capacity planning for a large organization.
