About The Position

The Director, Relationship Manager is a member of the Westwood Energy Secondaries team focused on supporting the team as a Relationship Manager for existing Limited Partnerships and delivering best-in-class service to our key investors and prospective investors. You will serve as a steward of certain investor relationships for the firm’s energy secondaries strategies. The role is relationship-driven and outward-facing, with responsibility for deepening investor relationships and delivering a best-in-class investor experience. The role supports Investor Relations, Operations and Marketing as it relates to long-term investor engagement, retention, and growth. You will manage the HNW and family office investor segment in Texas and provide best-in-class client service to prospective and existing investors and will be a key member of the team as we seek to double AUM in the next 12-24 months.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field with a strong record of academic success
  • Minimum Specific Experience Required 8+ years of experience in investor relations / client service, ideally at a Texas-based, real asset investment firm.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Strong relationship management skills and experience working with HNW investors
  • Strong willingness and desire to learn and grow
  • Superior orientation to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Investor Relationship Management Work closely with the Investment team and serve as the primary relationship manager for Texas-based HNW and Family Office investors in Westwood Energy Secondaries team investments
  • Serve as a point of contact for these investors, developing deep, trusted relationships across the full investment lifecycle
  • Act as a strategic partner to these investors by understanding investment objectives, preferences, and evolving needs
  • Anticipate investor questions and concerns and facilitate thoughtful, responsive engagement
  • Support senior leadership in maintaining and strengthening relationships with key and strategic investors
  • Investor Experience & Engagement Personalize engagement strategies for key relationships, including meeting agendas and follow-up
  • Facilitate ongoing dialogue between these investors and the Investment team to ensure clarity and alignment
  • Identify opportunities to enhance investor engagement and communication cadence
  • Investor-Facing Messaging & Meetings Present investment reports in person to Texas-based investors for all Westwood Energy Secondaries team investment strategies
  • Develop tailored, personal investor presentations in response to these investor’s inquiries
  • Partner with the Investment team to translate complex investment concepts, portfolio performance, and market views into clear, compelling investor narratives
  • Events, Meetings & Strategic Touchpoints Help create Texas events and experiences for these key investor relationships, including investor events in Texas
  • Participate in third-party manager AGMs, investor meetings, conferences, and industry events to maintain visibility and strengthen relationships in Texas
  • Feedback, Insights & Continuous Improvement Serve as a senior conduit for investor feedback, sharing insights with the Investment team and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Identify trends, recurring themes, or gaps in investor understanding and recommend enhancements to investor messaging and engagement strategies
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the investor engagement model and relationship management approach for these investors
  • Other duties as assigned
