About The Position

Under the direction of the AVP, Student Affairs, the director is responsible for outreach, admissions, and enrollment efforts which includes the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College's recruitment and enrollment plan. The position is responsible for the customer relationship management (CRM) software and works with internal stakeholders to leverage data-driven approaches by gathering, analyzing, and utilizing institutional information to develop innovative strategies that are efficient and effective to achieve outreach and admissions goals. The incumbent collaborates across departments including but not limited to the Office of Financial Aid, Academic Advising, First Year Experience, Office of the Registrar, Early College, Office of Marketing and Communications and College Departments to meet enrollment goals and ensure cohesive student experience. Additionally, the director forges strong partnerships with local high schools, homeschool organizations, area colleges, community-based organizations, and professional associations to enhance and create new recruitment and admission strategies. The position provides leadership and direction to the staff and to the office. In addition, the director also provides coaching, mentoring, training, professional development and support to the team. The incumbent serves on departmental, division, college-wide, NSHE committees and performs other duties assigned to meet the needs of the office, division and institution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of experience in admissions, enrollment management and/or a related field.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student outreach, college access, and community organization.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging people of different cultures, academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Experience working with community, public and private agencies.
  • Experience working collaboratively with staff and faculty.
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing measurable outcomes and assessment strategies to formulate data-informed decisions.
  • Ability to promote, implement, and continuously improve best practices in outreach services and admissions processing.
  • Experience in analyzing recruitment and admissions-related data and assessing initiatives as part of strategic enrollment planning.
  • Experience managing a CRM system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current issues and trends in admissions, student affairs, and community colleges.
  • Develop partnerships with key community stakeholders and local high schools.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in education, business administration, marketing or related field.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in admissions, enrollment management and/or related field in a community college or open enrollment institution.
  • 5 or more years’ supervisory experience.
