The Director of Project Management (Non-Technology) is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional, non-technology initiatives across AVPSEES. Reporting to the CFO, this role drives operational excellence by ensuring strategic projects-spanning finance, operations, compliance, and business transformation-are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to organizational priorities. This role will also be instrumental in establishing and maturing a Project Management Office (PMO) capability, including governance, standards, and portfolio oversight. While initially operating as a senior individual contributor, the Director will lay the foundation for scalable project delivery infrastructure. The position requires strong executive presence and the ability to engage with senior leadership and, as needed, support materials and interactions for Board-level visibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field required
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in project or program management, preferably within private equity healthcare and/or complex, matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated experience building or maturing PMO functions, frameworks, or governance models
  • Experience managing enterprise-level, cross-functional initiatives outside of IT/technology
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership, including CFO-level stakeholders
  • Proven track record of delivering projects with measurable business impact (e.g., cost savings, process improvement, operational efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA or related discipline) preferred
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
  • Exposure to Board-level reporting or executive committee materials preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of enterprise-wide, non-technology projects from initiation through execution and closeout
  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to prioritize and align projects to strategic objectives
  • Establish and implement PMO frameworks, governance structures, and project management standards across the organization
  • Develop and manage a centralized project portfolio view, including prioritization, dependencies, and resource allocation
  • Define and track portfolio-level KPIs, including financial impact, timelines, and risk exposure
  • Build foundational PMO capabilities, including templates, reporting cadences, intake processes, and stage-gate controls
  • Serve as a senior individual contributor, directly managing high-priority and high-visibility initiatives
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; proactively implement mitigation strategies
  • Provide regular, concise reporting to executive leadership, including the CFO, on project status and outcomes
  • Prepare materials and support executive and Board-level reporting, including summaries of key initiatives, risks, and progress against strategic priorities
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across departments including Finance, Operations, Compliance, and HR
  • Ensure effective management and communication strategies are in place for impacted stakeholders
  • Oversee resource planning and capacity management across initiatives (informally, without direct authority as needed)
  • Influence stakeholders and drive accountability in a matrixed environment without direct reporting lines
  • Continuously improve project delivery processes, tools, and methodologies to support future PMO scale
