About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and developing a team of project managers while providing strategic oversight for complex, cross-functional initiatives in healthcare settings, focusing on non-acute and small acute organizations. The Director will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals, while fostering best practices, consistency, and continuous improvement across the project management function. This position requires collaboration with internal teams and external clients, translating strategic priorities into actionable outcomes, and monitoring project health, risks, and dependencies. The role also emphasizes leadership, coaching, and team development, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and overall project delivery effectiveness. Travel may be required to support client needs and project execution.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree preferred; 7+ years of relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated people leadership or team management experience
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations, preferably in non-acute or small acute settings
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple projects, and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet client needs and project timelines

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of project managers through coaching, performance management, and development planning
  • Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring execution aligns with timelines, methodologies, contractual commitments, and client expectations
  • Monitor project health, risks, dependencies, and outcomes, driving timely issue resolution
  • Promote consistency and best practices across project planning, execution, reporting, and governance
  • Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, analytics, operations, finance, sales, and technology teams to align on scope, deliverables, and success metrics
  • Facilitate governance forums and executive-level updates to communicate project progress and outcomes
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve project delivery efficiency, scalability, and consistency
