About The Position

This position will have primary responsible as an individual contributor for the management of a strategic initiative who has primary accountability to business partners and other parties for project planning, day-to-day execution, management, implementation, readiness, and reporting of several large and significant project or medium to large programs (typically up to $25M) where scope is subject to change, contains significant complexity, and significant risk, substantial number of resources, and complex organizational change issues that support complex enterprise or strategic corporate goals. May partner with the business to develop road maps, in every case, project/program objectives address complex business goals or accountable for the proper prioritization, funding and sequencing of projects/programs. The projects/programs will span multiple IT and/or business areas and will likely require the integral involvement of a solutions provider. Accountable to manage and monitor project tasks and controls during portfolio planning, project planning, and delivery activities to ensure on-time and quality outcomes are met within scope and budget. Work with a high degree of autonomy and apply expert/leading project and program management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project deliverables, processes, communications, presentations to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations.

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Possesses project financials acumen programs/projects of significant investment size.
  • Experienced leading significant change management and transformation efforts across business and technology partners
  • Effectively, clearly and concisely communicate in all methods (verbal, written, presentation) to all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for shaping, leading, developing and maintaining program/project strategies to support business objectives and drive growth, ensuring alignment of initiatives to strategic goals and objectives
  • Drive execution and achievement of milestones in highly matrixed organization without direct control of resource management responsibilities
  • Address business challenges by bridging the gap between strategy and execution and identifying scalable solutions designed to reduce the complexities.
  • Act with strong personal and situational awareness; understands what motivates stakeholders; learns their concerns, takes them seriously and addresses them.
  • Partners with Finance to support and provide insight to leadership on portfolio and/or program financials and forecast; understands what is driving the costs and what is needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Responsible for financial management of respective programs/projects. Accountable for understanding financial trends, insights and recommendations.
  • Responsible for effective vendor management including being able to manage effectively the sourcing process within context of the role, managing vendor deliverables, understanding dependencies both for individual vendors and between multiple vendors, managing risk mitigation and understanding where the vendor supports a critical path item
  • Act as a trusted advisor / leader with team, customers, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization (up to and including SLT/EC); solid executive presence.
  • Industry leading and expert knowledge and understanding of project management best practices, principles, project lifecycles, and various delivery methodologies.
  • Apply industry leading project and program management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project deliverables, processes, communications, and presentations.
  • Develop and deliver compelling fact-based stories and recommendations in written and presentation form while teaching and coaching others.
  • Hands-on and results driven leader with a proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively across organizations and cross functional teams
  • Drive complex situations to develop strategic, concise plans of action that help business areas achieve defined goals.
  • Foster an environment and culture that appropriately balances the “art” and “science” of project delivery across various methodologies while building deep bench strength and growth opportunities.
  • Effectively understand, interpret and communicate insights related to budgets, cost benefit analysis and trends in actuals for respective programs/projects.
  • Proactively coach and mentor members of the PM community across the enterprise
