About The Position

The Director of Project Management will lead and oversee all project management activities within Mitsubishi Electric's HVAC organization, located in Suwanee, GA. This strategic role is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across product development, production, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep expertise in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies, capable of driving operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; master's degree is preferred.
  • PMP certification is required
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies, with proven success applying these frameworks in manufacturing settings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and quality assurance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), setting standards, processes, and best practices for project execution throughout the organization.
  • Drive strict adherence to the established project development process, ensuring all project teams comply with defined protocols and best practices.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle for manufacturing initiatives, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, KPI's and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and resource availability.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and finance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Champion the adoption and integration of waterfall and agile methodologies, selecting the appropriate framework based on project needs and team capabilities.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Report project status, key milestones, and performance metrics to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop project managers and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards throughout all project activities.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned.
