Franklin Biolabs, Inc. is in search of a Director, Project Management who will oversee the management of the critical path activities at Franklin Biolabs from fully executed statements of work (SOW) to ensuring the Project Management team has the necessary information once deliverables are met, ensuring timely invoicing. As the primary point-of-contact for Project Management within the Preclinical | Translational business unit, the Director will also ensure study execution, study initiation, study completion, etc. within the agreed and/or contracted timelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of BS/BA degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or related field required.
  • 5-7 years of direct related experience in project management.
  • 10+ years of overall experience in operations, or related role.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and agencies (USDA, OLAW, GLP, AAALAC).
  • Knowledge of animal care and use and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate through conflicting situations.
  • Self-directed individual with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with limited direction, competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact with team members, clients, vendors and other third parties.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across various disciplines to ensure alignment.
  • Ability to use digital communication tools (video conferencing, chat platforms etc.) to effectively collaborate with team members in hybrid and remote settings.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 5% of the time, depending on the needs of the project, the client and the company.
  • Ability to accommodate evening, overnight or weekend travel, including potential extended trips to attend training, meetings, conduct fieldwork, or meet with clients.
  • This position requires full-time on-site presence at our Discovery Labs location.
  • This position requires access to lab spaces.
  • This position will require access to lab animal spaces.
  • Ability to distinguish between different colors (normal color vision).
  • Ability to see clearly at various distances.
  • Adequate near vision for reading documents or lab equipment.
  • Ability to focus and maintain concentration in tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying light conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Generation of meeting agendas, tracking and circulation of meeting notes, and distribution of action items, including routine follow-up to ensure timely progress and completion.
  • Proactive and close communication within the Preclinical | Translational teams (In Vivo Operations, In Vivo Services, and Histology teams) to ensure timely action is taken with potential deviations that could affect deliverables.
  • Proactively identify and prioritize opportunities, develop and monitor action and mitigation plans, communicate analysis and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Track and utilize lessons learned and best practices to develop/improve metrics, processes, and communications, including implementation of initiatives used to define strategy, establish goals, and archive deliverables.
  • Partner closely with the Project Management team to ensure timely invoicing, assist with project profitability, and provide routine updates on opportunities and risks to assist with forecasting.
  • Serve as a member of the In Vivo Services leadership team that oversees operational activities for animal studies.
