About The Position

The NORAM Project Management Director is a dynamic, high-impact leadership role spearheading transformational project initiatives across North America's fast-paced capital markets landscape. This visionary leader will establish and maintain a sophisticated PMO structure, drive innovation and excellence in project execution with particular focus on Calypso trading platform implementations and integrations, positioning our organization at the cutting edge of financial services while navigating complex regulatory requirements, market challenges, and emerging opportunities. Key Responsibilities PM Team Structure & Governance Design and implement a comprehensive Project Management framework tailored specifically for capital markets technology with emphasis on Calypso trading platform governance Establish standardized methodologies, templates, and tools to streamline Calypso implementation projects across trading, risk, collateral, and treasury functions Develop and enforce stage-gate approval processes, investment prioritization frameworks, and resource allocation models Create and maintain project portfolio dashboards with real-time visibility into Calypso deployment status, risks, and dependencies Implement robust change control processes that balance governance requirements with the flexibility needed for iterative Calypso configurations Design and oversee project health scoring mechanisms to enable objective evaluation of in-flight initiatives Establish and chair governance committees composed of key stakeholders from business, IT, and operations Calypso Platform Excellence Lead complex, enterprise-wide Calypso implementations across multiple asset classes, focusing on derivatives processing, structured products, and cross-asset trading capabilities Orchestrate Calypso upgrades and migrations from legacy systems, ensuring seamless transition with no service disruption Drive integration strategies between Calypso and other critical systems including market data providers, confirmation platforms, and settlement systems Establish centers of excellence for Calypso configuration best practices, custom development standards, and testing protocols Champion Calypso's straight-through-processing capabilities to maximize operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions Oversee the development of custom Calypso modules to address unique business requirements not covered by out-of-the-box functionality Lead the design and implementation of Calypso's workflow engine to optimize trade lifecycle management Strategic Leadership & Organizational Impact Architect and execute project management strategies that revolutionize capital markets technology delivery through Calypso platform capabilities Lead an elite team of project professionals with specialized Calypso expertise, cultivating a high-performance culture Partner with C-suite executives to align Calypso implementation roadmaps with strategic market positioning and revenue growth objectives Drive organizational change management to ensure successful adoption of Calypso-enabled business processes Optimize front-to-back testing approaches for complex Calypso configurations Establish and maintain relationships with Calypso vendor management teams to influence product roadmap and expedite issue resolution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field; MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred 10+ years of progressive project management experience with at least 5 years leading complex capital markets initiatives specifically in the North American market Strong Understanding of Capital Markets Front, Middle & Back Office Operations Fluency in Interest Rate Derivatives, Fixed Income, Commodities and FX Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting Calypso, or similar platforms, with deep understanding of its architecture and capabilities Experience managing transition projects from legacy platforms to Calypso trading solutions Strong understanding of PMO establishment and maturity models in financial services organizations PMP certification required; additional certifications in risk management (FRM), financial services (CFA), or agile methodologies (CSM) highly desirable Expertise in project governance design, portfolio management techniques, and resource optimization strategies Advanced knowledge of financial instruments, trading workflows, and market operations across asset classes Experience leading global, cross-functional teams with diverse skill sets and cultural backgrounds Strong vendor management experience, particularly with Calypso and complementary financial technology providers Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; Nasdaq will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa) This position can be located in New York, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates. The base pay range for this role is $125,000 - $244,000. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field; MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience with at least 5 years leading complex capital markets initiatives specifically in the North American market
  • Strong Understanding of Capital Markets Front, Middle & Back Office Operations
  • Fluency in Interest Rate Derivatives, Fixed Income, Commodities and FX
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting Calypso, or similar platforms, with deep understanding of its architecture and capabilities
  • Experience managing transition projects from legacy platforms to Calypso trading solutions
  • Strong understanding of PMO establishment and maturity models in financial services organizations
  • PMP certification required
