About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the design and implementation of professional learning tied to the district strategic plan initiatives with the Office of Professional Learning. Designs and implements systems and structures that support the evaluation of professional learning that is procured or designed internally from inception through implementation.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of national trends in the delivery of training including the use of technology-based training techniques and best practices related to the development and delivery of training
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Google Apps
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to design and deliver professional development
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback
  • Ability to evaluate training and professional learning to ensure topics and information are being implemented
  • Ability to implement creative problem-solving solutions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at varying hierarchical levels and roles.
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Five years of successful teaching experience
  • Three years successful adult education experience
  • Demonstrated successful experience in a progressively responsible administrative/management role
  • Successful completion of School Administrator’s Program
  • Experience in designing and delivering professional development to meet identified needs using a variety of modalities
  • Experience leading and managing large scale projects and initiatives.
  • Must hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an administrative license area of the School
  • Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plans a program of relevant, meaningful, professional learning experiences that meet the individual needs of employees.
  • Creates new professional learning related to the district strategic plan and the needs of the Office of Professional Learning.
  • Creates tools, resources, and activities that enhance continuous improvement training programs.
  • Delivers electronic and face-to-face learning experiences to employees.
  • Ensures that professional learning programs are implemented with fidelity and contain accurate content, relevant information, and consistent messages.
  • Conducts needs assessments to determine training needs.
  • Provides consultation and assistance to Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) staff with the planning, design and delivery of conferences, workshops and presentations related to strategic plan initiatives.
  • Partners with Data, Research, and Accountability to design, implement, and monitor a system for evaluating the effectiveness of all professional learning and training.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and participates on cross-functional teams and projects to foster organizational alignment and commitment to system-wide goals.
  • Coordinates and contributes to the development of WCPSS sponsored professional development events.
  • Stays current in research-based improvement strategies to ensure that professional learning matches needs of all employees.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
