About The Position

Looking for a highly motivated and passionate Director of Product Management, for Automotive software products to help define and promote Software features for Microcontrollers targeting ADAS/Infotainment and mixed criticality use cases. Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Formulates and executes long-term roadmaps for cost/profit control. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products. Successful candidate will define and own technology roadmap for automotive software safety and reliability - for customer programs globally, analyze business opportunities, drive execution and help with safety related customer engagements for ADAS/infotainment & Mixed criticality use cases. The position requires deep expertise in automotive software, functional safety/ISO26262 development or automotive/safety software product management, with strong focus on Functional Safety compliance processes, Automotive software development process, Software/ Systems architecture at vehicle level, RTOS (SafeRTOS/OSEK/Zephyr or other MCU RTOS), BSP, Embedded Software, Safety/Systems Software expertise, Classic AUTOSAR/SOME-IP and Automotive Middleware. knowledge on Functional-safety (ISO26262), FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, 8D expertise/experience would be preferred. Should have very good understanding of the safety micro controller architecture for Automotive. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate and influence multiple stakeholders in Product Management, Business Development, HW and SW Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Sales teams are essential requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
  • 8+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of Automotive SW dev/management (incl. requirements/systems) experience.
  • 10+ years experience in leading/successfully delivering Software products for Automotive Microcontrollers.
  • 5+ years experience with Classic AUTOSAR software development/product management.
  • 5+ years experience with leading functional safety software design/architecture and Safety analysis.
  • Strong expertise in MCU Software development and embedded software concepts/tools. Strong experience with defining end to end safety concepts for mixed-critical systems.
  • Strong experience with automotive software development - process maturity, quality metrics (incl. robustness, freedom from Interference and software reliability) and ISO26262 standards based software/product development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Ability to drive/lead engineering discussions with deep technical understanding/knowledge on one or more areas related to Functional Safety (ISO26262), Automotive SW development process, software quality, including BSP, drivers, OSEK, RTOS, AUTOSAR, BSW, RTE, JTAG debuggers, MCU application stack, MCU peripheral drivers, Ethernet, Communication protocols and V&V process.
  • Define use cases, help with safety software architecture, write requirements for SDKs, BSP, MCU software/middleware and the value proposition for safety/quality.
  • Work with customers and internal engineering teams on RFIs, RFQs, and system-level use case modelling & analysis (with focus on Safety and robustness/quality).
  • Develops product goals, (e.g., features, performance, cost, timeline, schedules), defines metrics/KPIs, performs product feasibility, and facilitates cross-functional decision making for products they own.
  • Together with advanced knowledge of industry trends and/or competitors’ products, Translate customer requirements, feedback, and market dynamics into feature requests, software product requirements and feature roll out plans - to ensure a high quality software product.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment, including experience in discussing complex ideas with partners, customers, and executives.
  • Validates business cases and determines relevance to organizational strategy; contributes to the creation of the product roadmap to advance organizational strategy and goals.
  • Reviews, prepares, and delivers technical presentations regarding product roadmaps, RFI/RFQ/RFP, and/or proposals to demonstrate and market product portfolios to customers and/or prospective customers, and integrates customer feedback into project roadmaps.
  • Serves as the authority in the creation of a differentiated roadmap for all safety product portfolio, facilitates decision making between cross-functional leaders, and achieves buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drives cross-functional conversations around the development of a software product portfolio that meets customer needs and aligns with Qualcomm SoC hardware product roadmaps.
  • Develops/reviews innovative product development plans, drives and creates/defines software product requirements for multiple new and emerging technologies/products, including determination of cost and impact, and continually reviews ROI of specific products.
  • Reviews identified gaps in market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and makes software safety related decisions on how these gaps impact roadmaps.
  • Drives communication plan and communicates appropriately with internal customers, third-party vendors, and senior management to build relationships, ensure alignment and buy-in, and achieve product safety/quality/robustness goals as well as manage any planned changes.
  • Drives effective cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that Engineering and other internal partners (i.e., program management) meet customer expectations, promised deadlines, and align with overall roadmap for software product portfolio(s).
  • Translates customer needs, product roadmaps, and organizational strategy into successful software product(s) and facilitates decisions necessary for product delivery by partnering with cross-functional leaders.
