About The Position

As Director of UX, you’ll shape how businesses of all sizes experience HubSpot—designing intuitive, scalable, and impactful product experiences that help customers unlock value and grow with confidence. Role Summary As the Director of User Experience, you will lead a team of designers responsible for delivering seamless, end-to-end product experiences across key areas of HubSpot’s platform. You’ll balance simplicity with power—ensuring our products remain easy to use while supporting increasingly sophisticated customer needs. You’ll operate at the intersection of design craft, product strategy, and business impact. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Research, you’ll define the long-term UX vision, guide execution, and ensure a consistently high bar for quality across the customer journey. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll scale teams, influence product direction, and help HubSpot deliver experiences that are both usable and deeply valuable.

Requirements

  • Experience leading UX teams, including managing managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Proven experience designing for B2B SaaS products across varying levels of product complexity and customer needs.
  • Strong track record of delivering intuitive, high-quality user experiences at scale.
  • Ability to balance long-term vision with near-term execution, making thoughtful trade-offs in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering to deliver customer-centric outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to connect UX decisions to business impact and growth.
  • Experience coaching and developing high-performing design teams.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with product-led growth or self-serve experiences.
  • Familiarity with onboarding, activation, or lifecycle experience design.
  • Experience working with or evolving design systems at scale.
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or platform environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of product designers (and researchers), delivering high-quality, end-to-end user experiences across the platform.
  • Define and drive UX strategy, balancing simplicity, scalability, and business impact across a diverse customer base.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Research to align on priorities, reduce complexity, and deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Champion intuitive, customer-centric experiences that drive adoption, engagement, and long-term value.
  • Establish and evolve design systems, patterns, and frameworks that ensure consistency and scalability across products.
  • Coach and develop designers and design leaders, raising the bar for craft, clarity, and impact.
  • Advocate for the voice of the customer, using qualitative and quantitative insights to influence product and executive decisions.
  • Build a strong, inclusive team culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and growth across distributed teams.
