About The Position

Leads efforts of North American operations team(s) focused on services supporting functional areas as assigned by senior leadership. Additional Responsibilities Leads organization with cross-functional responsibilities as assigned by Senior Leadership. Sustains cost-effective management of functional areas of responsibility through process improvements and strong leadership. Oversees vendor management, utilization, and velocity to ensure assets are positioned appropriately to satisfy customer demands. Builds strong relationships with vendors such as depots, truckers, motor carriers, terminals, and maintenance providers in an effort to deliver high service quality. Develops, tracks, and monitors vendor performance, including the creation of tools for ease of tracking performance. Develops department expertise to be a key resource and access point for customers and vendors. Establishes key KPIs and reporting process. Develops internal staff to be a key resource and access point for customers and vendors. Works cross-functionally to prioritize customers and ensure service providers understand the same. Prepares cost budgets and reconciles monthly expenses and credits. Coaches employees to perform at high levels, including expectations, using KPI’s/metrics and goals. Completes performance appraisals as required under company guidelines. Responsible and accountable for all employees reporting directly or indirectly to this position and for ensuring company policy is communicated and followed. Possess a proven track record establishing and meeting departmental performance and financial metrics. Experience overseeing expenditures exceeding $10,000,000 annually is a plus.

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Management of staff, experience in: delegation, performance coaching, feedback
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical ability, acts objectively, and plans for long-term implications
  • Proficient with Excel, other analytical tools, and G Suite
  • Advance knowledge of macros, pivot tables, and formulas in MS Excel
  • Inland logistics, intermodal, and port operations knowledge
  • Successful Vendor management relations
  • Creative skills andthe ability to explore new opportunities
  • Intimate understanding of new and changing customer demands/expectations
  • 5+ management and 10+ years of industry-related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
